Going Green Art Marketplace

The 1st Annual 2010 Alabama Mountain Games is pleased to feature The Going Green Art  Marketplace.  This marketplace is seeking artists inspired by nature, outdoor sports and recycled materials.  The organizers of The Alabama Mountain Games are hoping to bring attention to the beauty of Alabama, its artistic and athletic talents as well as raise awareness of conserving the natural environment.  The festival is an expansion of what has been known as NAWFest for the past 5 years.  Last year, NAWFest welcomed over 1500 people.  With the expansion of our outdoor activities, by including the Locust Fork Classic and by changing our location to Boogie Bottoms Family Entertainment Park in Cleveland, AL, we hope to double the number of attendees.  Music by local musicians as well as athletes participating in kayaking, wake boarding, rock climbing and mountain biking competitions will entertain the crowd.

Going Green Art MarketplaceWe will have a special marketplace tent set up in a central location within the festival site for attendees to peruse artists’ offerings.    The Going Green Art Marketplace will be open from 10am-8pm Saturday, March 20th.  Set up may begin at 8am and must be complete by 10am on the 20th; breakdown will begin only after 8pm.  Artists must secure their booth space within the marketplace tent by signing The Going Green Art Marketplace Agreement and pay the $15 entry fee before March 4th.

The agreement states the artist pays The Alabama Mountain Games entry fee and 10% of the monies earned over a total of $150, which will be donated to The Alabama Mountain Games conservation efforts.  The 20x30 marketplace tent will give each artist the space to set up a 6x2 table and grid wall/free-standing shelves behind the table to display artwork.  Tables, grid wall and any other display shelves will be provided by the artist.  Only 10 spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis within the marketplace tent.  Other space directly outside of the marketplace tent may be available after the 10 booths are booked as long as the artist provides a 10x10 tent.  Electrical hook up will be provided for each artist’s booth/tent space.
